~ TITUS CHAPTER TWO ~

What exactly does Titus 2 tell us?It is straight forward, pertinent and relevant for us today. God encourages us to love, and tells us how to love. Notice this chapter is for two 'seasons' of life:

Older women are to be

- reverent in behavior - not slanderers
- sober/ not given to much wine
- teachers of good things

Younger women are to

- love their husbands - love their children
- be discreet - chaste - kind
- homemakers
- good
- obedient to their own husbands

Why? That the very word of God may not be blasphemed.

In other words - He is telling us outright how to honor Him. How
to glorify Him.

The chapter ends with an admonishment to speak these things,
exhort, and rebuke with all authority.

This passage points us in the right direction. To love. To be selfless as He is.
Often, when a young mom is home with the children all day, the laundry and dishes piling up, the littles fussing or sick, your hubby away for long hours at work -- it is easy to get caught up in the minor things and forget the big picture. I believe the passage points us back to the basics of what is important. Plain old Love. Feeling good about being a homemaker when you feel less than glamorous or even unsuccessful by the world's standards. Serving and honoring God in the basics is honorable. It is enough.

Let us encourage one another as we grow in our understanding of God's love, grace, and purposes.
